[Pkg-alsa-devel] Bug#268221: alsa-base: /etc/init.d/alsa loses sometimes the race with udev

Package: alsa-base
Version: 1.0.5a-3
Severity: normal

When booting my system alsactl restore sometimes failes with "no
soundcards found". The manual invokation of alsactl restore later on
command line works. So I guessed the module loading, device creation is
not finished when alsactl gets called in the init script. I inserted an
sleep 5 before the alsactl call in the init script and rebooted serveral
times. Now the mixer settings are always restored succesfully.

I have no idea how to fix this. Maybe it could help to invoke the alsa
init script later.

Regards, Kai
