yields:

gst-launch-0.8: pcm.c:2094: snd_pcm_wait: Assertion `err == 1' failed.
Aborted
seems fixed upstream so I patched my alsa-lib as explained on
https://bugtrack.alsa-project.org/alsa-bug/view.php?id=643

Rhythmbox, gstreamer-properties etc work fine again after that.
