Package: alsa-source
Version: 1.0.2c-3
Severity: minor

It is possible after modules upgrade that some of the names for controls
or their slots have been swapped around. In that case, alsactl restore
fails. alsa init script, only gives the following:
# /etc/init.d/alsa start
Starting ALSA (version 1.0.2c): ALSA appears to be compiled statically.
Restoring ALSA mixer settings ... failed

which is not informative. We should either suggest to the user to run
alsactl restore himself to find out what went wrong, and/or to remove
/etc/asound.state because some configuration state is incompatible with
the new version of his driver and must be reset.
