Package: alsa-base
Version: 0.9.8-3
Severity: grave
Justification: renders package unusable

Hello,

I have recently compiled a custom 2.6.1 kernel with static alsa support. I have copied my earlyer
ALSA setup (which was based on kernel modules) and now I barely hear anything out of the speakers
 - just a whisper: it's working but not really.

The appropriate channels are unmuted and upregulated all the way in alsamixer.

I attach the following files for evaluation of the configuration:
/etc/alsa/modutils/0.9
/etc/default/alsa
/usr/src/linux-2.6.1/.config

Actually, the submitter has admitted that this bug can be closed,
since it was due to his having a hardware volume control down low.
