I didn't have any unresolvable problems with the 1.0.5 alsa modules, IIRC.

Since several weeks I could not loud the new alsa-drivers of the
1.0.6 series: The compile of the modules went smoothly, IIRC. But trying
to install or load them gives an error:

insmod --probe snd-powermac
