Package: alsa-driver
Severity: normal

I see the following:
alsa-driver-1.0.6a/debian$ grep db_input *

alsa-base.config:db_input low alsa-base/alsactl_store_on_shutdown || :
alsa-source.config:db_input medium alsa-source/has_pnp || true
alsa-source.config:db_input medium alsa-source/debug || true
alsa-source.config:db_input medium alsa-source/cards_to_be_built || true

Please set the priority of all questions to low. "man 5 debconf-devel" says
that:
low Very trivial items that have defaults that will
     work in the vast majority of cases; only control
     freaks see these.

This is exactly what has_pnp, debug and cards_to_be_built are about.
Nobody cares about the few KB which are used more on the harddisk
(except control freaks ;-). However all these questions one has to click
through are a nuisance.

I would also say (though with a bit less convincement) that
alsactl_store_on_shutdown could be increased to medium. from
debonf-devel(5):
medium Normal items that have reasonable defaults.

For a _multi-user_ system where an admin sets it up, it might be very
reasonable to go for "only store once at next shutdown" (or so). So the
given default would not be good. This question therefore seems to be of
interest to more than just control freaks. Anyway, I am not too clear on
this one.
