Hello,
I don't use the OSS emulation anymore, but I can't find an option to
disable OSS module compiling or, at least, the OSS module loading at
boot. In fact, every time you install or upgrade 'alsa-base', this
install a new /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base (and similar for modutils):
=====
root@gismo:/home/luca# cat /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base
install snd-pcm /sbin/modprobe --ignore-install snd-pcm &&
/sbin/modprobe snd-pcm-oss
install snd-mixer /sbin/modprobe --ignore-install snd-mixer &&
/sbin/modprobe snd-mixer-oss
install snd-seq /sbin/modprobe --ignore-install snd-seq &&
/sbin/modprobe snd-seq-oss
root@gismo:/home/luca#
=====
ATM I'm obliged to delete /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base or comment the
lines out, to disable OSS emulation at boot.
I remember that in ancient packages 'alsa-base' asks for loading OSS
emulation at boot [1].
Please consider re-adding such an option.
Thx, bye,
Gismo / Luca
