Either 1.0.6[a] or 1.0.5 with critical/important bugfixes needs to be
released and pushed into sarge.

The pre-sarge work that I wanted to do on alsa-base and alsa-utils is
more or less complete.  I would like to see the fruits of that work in
unstable, at least, where it can receive some testing.

I have just looked through the changes made by ubuntu to their
packages.  I didn't find anything extra I needed to backport from them. 
Interestingly, they solved #270413 by deleting alsaconf.
