I get freezes within almost always 3min of starting to play an mp3 with
ALSA output plugin.
I always "Message: output format 7" when starting to play.
When it freezes, the music just stops playing and the numbers/slider
from rolling. If I started xmms from terminal window, I can restart
playing with Play or touching the slider. If I started it from Gnome2
menu, I'm out of luck (I can still right click to get a menu, but if I
press any of the interface buttons instead, it freezes up completely)
My soundchip is Realtek ALC600 and I compiled a driver for it from
the alsa-source package, version 0.9.6-5
These are the sound related modules I had loaded at the time:
aeonflux:/usr/lib/xmms/Output# lsmod

I am closing bug reports against alsa-source that are more than one year
old and that relate to upstream aspects of the package. The reports are
too old to be of any use now.
