Hi Thomas and all others,

I'd like to volunteer to help with packaging the new alsa rc version.
Here are a few facts about me to help you decide whether I would be a
fitting candidate:

x I'm a rather experienced C programmer (about 5yrs, including experiments
with writing a kernel module)
x I have medium experience creating debian packages - I'm admin at a
university computer network with ~90 debian boxes, for which I've
written (and packaged) a couple of C programs and libraries
x I must confess that I have no in-depth knowledge of the ALSA code base -
I've looked at it a few times (and have currently reverted to using the
upstream tarballs because of recent driver troubles with one of
my cards), but never made extensive changes to it, or spent major
amounts of time to understand all the details - but I hope that
this knowledge is not an absolute necessity as a packager.
x no DD; I have a GPG key since several years, but haven't met a member
of the project yet to have it signed, although I guess this could be
arranged without problems (I'm located in Berlin, Germany).

Best regards,

Jan
