Package: alsa-base
Version: 1.0.8-3
Severity: normal

After upgrading to 1.0.8-3 (I don't remember which version I had
installed before, but it was not very recent), the mixer settings are at
zero after boot.
I use udev.

The solution to this is for alsa drivers to create the control device
last rather than first. See #279325 for background. This change was
implemented only in alsa-driver release 1.0.8.

alsa-driver version 1.0.8 is expected to be included in Linux 2.6.11.

In the meantime you can build alsa-modules-YOUR.KERN.VER from
alsa-source 1.0.8-X in order to get fixed ALSA drivers for your kernel.
