Bug#288005: acknowledged by developer (Re: [Pkg-alsa-devel] Bug#288005: alsa-base: Unable to use cs4237b sound card with alsa)

I'm aware that that might be a problem. There are one option in my
bios which affects it - audio mode can be set to disabled, half-duplex
and full-duplex. Half-duplex means that it cannot record and play at
the same time. I've tried both half-duplex and full-duplex. I've never
set it to disabled.
Another thing is that I cannot access the bios settings in linux,
other than on start-up. Normally I can use fn-f1 anytime to come into
the bios settings. So there might be some info in it in in that
situation that I've never seen.
I've also upgraded to the newest bios, A12. I guess many people won't
do this. It involves running a diskette extractor to make a diskette
with the flash bios updater, and then running it in dos. There may be
some unknown problem with either the bios or linux with that version
of it.
The soundcard is in the pnp list, so how come it isn't detected? Is
there any way to get more info on exactly what is happening?

Regards, Alexander Toresson
