I had one friend whose sound card did not work because hotplug loaded
the modem driver before the sound card driver, so I recommended that
he add the snd_ prefix to the blacklist entry and now it works fine
for him. (I also remember someone complaining about the same problem
on debian-user.)
So it seems some people are affected by this bug, but are not aware of
its cause. Whether or not it's an alsa-base bug, or a bug that would
be more correctly handled somewhere else, though... Do you know what
the other distributions do?
(On my system, hotplug seems to load the sound card driver first.)
