Package: <alsa-base>

Version: <1.0.9b-2>

I just upgraded my Debian Testing system, and it upgraded alsa, among other
things. Immediately after that I experienced noise on my soundcard when
playing sound. I tried to downgrade alsa to that of Stable, but that did not
resolve the problem.

Here is a snippet form the output of lspci:

0000:00:0c.0 Multimedia audio controller: Cirrus Logic CS 4614/22/24
[CrystalClear SoundFusion Audio Accelerator] (rev 01)

I tried with both a custom kernel I have (2.6.11) and the precompiled one from
Debian (2.6.8-2-k7_2.6.8-16_i386).

Hope my card is not broken. Will fire up Win98 to test this.

;)Frode

This bug may have arisen from incompatibilities between different
versions of ALSA library and drivers.

If that is not the cause of the problem then there is a problem
with the upstream code, not with the packaging.
