Hi.  We are about to release 1.0.10 after several 1.0.10rc releases to
experimental; so, patches against the unstable version, while appreciated
are less than ideal.

How 'bout we add you to the pkg-alsa developers so that you can check in
(svn) changes to the current code yourself?
