The driver is now called 'hda-index'. Please upgrade to the latest
ALSA drivers and test to see whether it is still necessary to load
snd-hda-codec in order to eliminate crackling.
What does the snd-hda-codec do? Why would you load it? Why would
someone not load it? I.e., should it _always_ be loaded above
snd-hda-intel?
Please reply by filing a bug report against alsa-base so we can keep
track of this issue more easily.
