hello,

my system showed the same missing alsa rule. I pulled it from
the package (thanks mc) - and then it worked and I looked a
this bug - and followed the advise of thomas

dpkg -P alsa-utils
dpkg -i /.../debian/pool/main/a/alsa-utils/alsa-utils_1.0.10-1_i386.deb 

and the file got installed - simply installing the package
without first purgin' it would not!
