Might be a bug with the swiss server ...
Even if I did manually: I didn't download from obscure places :) Here's
where I could get the package:
deb file:/root debs/
deb-src file:/root debs/
deb http://honk.sigxcpu.org/linux-ppc/debian/ mplayer/
deb-src http://honk.sigxcpu.org/linux-ppc/debian/ mplayer/

What's wrong with that list?
But you're right: On Debian ppc there's just libasound2 (1.0.12-1):
http://packages.debian.org/unstable/libs/libasound2
I don't get that ... what's going on with that http://mirror.switch.ch
server? :)
And please have a look at my initial mail, i.e.:
$ apt-cache policy libasound2
libasound2:
Installed: 1.0.13-1
Candidate: 1.0.13-1
Version table:
*** 1.0.13-1 0
990 http://mirror.switch.ch unstable/main Packages
100 /var/lib/dpkg/status
