Package: alsa-source
Version: 1.0.11-5
Severity: normal
This report is informational. The bug is reported at the Alsa project;
it is #1756. I'm reporting it here because there is an immediate fix,
and because the problem was vexing to someone unfamiliar with sound
configuration.
I recently installed etch, but I have been unable to get sound out of my
ENS1371 module. As it turns out Alsa was configured correctly using
normal procedures. However, there is a problem in the driver code. I
have been able to correct the problem from the fix information at
https://lists.ubuntu.com/archives/kernel-team/2006-August/000979.html.

Alsa is configured correctly, but I could not get any sound out of my
ENS1371 module. I have been able to correct the problem from the
information at
https://lists.ubuntu.com/archives/kernel-team/2006-August/000979.html.
The fix is a change to the driver code.
