I am wondering if this information should be intergrated somehow into
discover1/discover2 (don't know which one is fit, and if is 1, then I guess, it
should be integrated into alsa somehow).
Since I was annoyed by this issue, I looked deeper into it and found that the
following works:
- - add "options snd-hda-intel model=laptop-dig position_fix=1" to
/etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base
- - reload the module after recovering from sleep
Now headphones work. I am not sure about the microphone, I haven't tested.
Just for refernce and verbosity, this is on a Dell Inspiron 6400 aka Dell
Inspiron E1505 (I have the 6400, but AFAIK this is the same thing, just
different marketing name).
Don't know if it matters (it shouldn't, but I don't know if Dell did any funny
stuff), but my model has an ATI video card. I am saying this because I have
found different results around his issue for the Dell Inspiron 6400/E1505 for
the same tests.
E.g.: http://stderr.linuxinit.net/inspiron.html#sound - info here didn't helped
while the previous information sent didn't fully work, and I also did other
tests suggested on different places on the internet.
