BTW, its very painful to reply to your mail as you put the whole mail
below the signature, which is stripped by most e-mail programs when

I do not understand that. I read through [0], but neither was asound in use nor
do I use amorok nor was anything running that used alsa.

If a reboot fixes things even when libasound is not in use, that is a bad
sign (what to do with servers? reboot them).

In any case, a rbeoot does not have any effect on the problem, it is still
persisting with the newer version of libasound.
