As mentioned before, alsaconf is needed for 2.4 kernels and I don't
understand yet, why you obtain on it. On next reboot your system will
find your soundcard for sure, though. The module management is done
by udev and hey, I think we can safely remove alsaconf out of our
distribution. etch, lenny and sid do have 2.6 kernels. So alsaconf
isn't needed anymore.
