[Pkg-alsa-devel] Some advice on udev soundfont loading?

Hi ALSA packagers.

I am (nominally) the maintainer of the awesfx package. Admittedly, I
haven't been bothered to do anything substantial with it for a while
(not since I lost my own SoundBlaster 32 (or was it Live?), long story -
always planned to get it back, but that never happened). But now, since
I have some time, I figured I should at least fix some issues with it,
even though it's not of much use to myself right now (maybe later,
though, still hoping). I've found a new upstream release that I'm
packaging, for example.

The big thing missing in this package is, of course, the ability to
automatically load soundfonts into the AWE synthesizer on boot, or when
the ALSA driver module is loaded, or whatever - so, udev support. There
are some udev scripts in etc/ in the source tarball, but they don't look
particularly FHS or Debian-policy-compliant. It looks like those scripts
expect that you can install a couple of scripts into /etc/alsa.d/, and
then have the udev rules invoke them, or something. I don't see such a
directory in Debian... And I don't really know much about udev and how
to integrate that in Debian. So, where do I put this stuff?

If you're interested, you can find the package at
http://www.ping.uio.no/~ovehk/awesfx/, there's an unpacked source tree
in there too so you don't have to download it.

Thanks for any insight...
