[Pkg-alsa-devel] Bug#460410: Bug#460410: alsa-base: snd_hda_intel for SigmaTel STAC9205 kills beeper speaker on dell laptop

I have the same or similar problem, but on a different laptop with a 
different sound card.

The card is just listed as HDA Intel in alsamixer, with a  Realtek 
ALC888 chip.

The laptop is an ASUS U6S.

lspci -v gives
