I don't think so, as there is no such option in pulseaudio I am aware
of.
More over, if I remove all calls to mute_and_zero_levels() in alsa-utils
init script, sound level is ok after boot. The same happens if I
uninstall alsa-utils completely (I must say I do not really need it but
I do not understand what causes this odd behaviour)
