The index=? parameter shouldbe used by every driver. Checkthe
modinfo command.
Since alsa-utils 1.0.17 (in experimental at the moment) alsaconf
isn't provided by the Debian ALSA packages anymore. To check how to
configure your soundcard via /etc/modprobe.d please read
/usr/share/doc/alsa-base/README.Debian.gz
