Please send the output of:
$ grep snd-usb-audio /etc/modprobe.d/*

Since alsa-base (1.0.23+dfsg-1) we made shure an usb-sound device
doesn't get the primary one. Read
/usr/share/doc/alsa-base/changelog.Debian.gz:
...
alsa-driver (1.0.23+dfsg-1) unstable; urgency=low
...
* Prevent snd-usb-audio to be the first soundcard via
/etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base.conf. (closes: #574593).
