[Pkg-alsa-devel] Bug#714345: Bug#714345: alsa-base: No sound on PowerPC with Jessie upgrade

Hi,

I started up with the 3.2.0-4 kernel and sound worked!  Alsamixer and aplay -l recognized my soundcard and everything.  I found these three lines in dmesg:

[   19.438190] i2c i2c-8: PMac Keywest Audio: attach_adapter method is deprecated
[   19.445598] i2c i2c-8: Please use another way to instantiate your i2c_client
[   19.510825] input: PowerMac Beep as /devices/pci0001:10/0001:10:17.0/input/input4

compared with dmesg from the 3.9 kernel:

[   19.653191] i2c i2c-6: PMac Keywest Audio: attach_adapter method is deprecated
[   19.660609] i2c i2c-6: Please use another way to instantiate your i2c_client
[   19.670142] i2c i2c-6: Failed to register i2c client keywest at 0x35 (-16)
