That's indeed uncommon. Please check all your mixer settings after
booting Debian from XP's restart. I guess there is a a control (pcm,
master or one of the satelites) muted. As well be sure to use the
analog output. This can be checked with i.e. alsamixer.

This all looks correct. Your sound should work perfect. Please let
