This commit fixes that problem and was committed about 3 weeks ago, but 
release v1.2.5 is from 5 weeks ago, so probably not part of it.

I'm very much looking forward to having this bug fixed has been impossible 
for me to upgrade to ffmpeg 4.4 (in experimental) without removing alsa-plugins
which in turn would require the removal of pulseaudio.
Very likely because of this, it's also blocks the auto-ffmpeg transition:
