Package: libasound2
Version: 1.2.10-1
Severity: grave
Justification: renders package unusable
Dear Maintainer,
Since update of the alsa packages
libasound2
libasound2-data
alsa-utils
libatopology2
from v1.2.9-1 to v1.2.10-1 all sound programs fail with a
segfault (see typical output below.)
This happens reproducibly on four different i386 computers
(this Thinkpad T420, two older Thinkpads T41, and an old PC).
I cannot tell if any other architecture is affected.
Downgrading of the four packages to v1.2.9-1 solves the problem.
Typical output:
~ > play /usr/share/sounds/alsa/Noise.wav
Segmentation fault
~ > aplay /usr/share/sounds/alsa/Noise.wav
Segmentation fault
~ > play /usr/share/javascript/mathjax/unpacked/extensions/a11y/invalid_keypress.mp3
Segmentation fault
~ > aplay /usr/share/javascript/mathjax/unpacked/extensions/a11y/invalid_keypress.mp3
Segmentation fault
~ > mpg123 /usr/share/javascript/mathjax/unpacked/extensions/a11y/invalid_keypress.mp3
