[Pkg-alsa-devel] Bug#1149234: alsa-info requires tree(1) but there's no dependency

Package: alsa-utils
Version: 1.2.16-1
Severity: normal
X-Debbugs-Cc: debian.axhn at manchmal.in-ulm.de

Greetings,

running alsa-info on Ubuntu 26.04 gave me a "/usr/sbin/alsa-info: line
679: tree: command not found". The issue exists in Debian as well, in
line 683. The tree program is provided by a package with that very same
name but alsa-utils does assert this program is available.

Solution 1: Add "tree" to Depends: as force every user of alsa-utils to
install it despite they'll rarely need it.

Solution 2: Add to Recomends: or Suggests: only, but patch alsa-info to
check first whether tree(1) is available. That's the nicer one :)
