Perhaps you would be interested in submitting this fix upstream
yourself directly?
If you are:
1. fork https://gitlab.com/apparmor/apparmor-profiles
2. edit the ubuntu/18.04/usr.bin.pidgin file and commit (ideally,
reference this bug report)
3. submit a merge request
Otherwise, no problem, someone on the Debian AppArmor team will pick
it up :)
