Hi Nguyen,
Thanks for your email, it is really good to hear that you are interested
in this area
Please understand that the GSoC program is still in an early stage - we
can't promise you any definite project right now, we have to wait for
the authorisation from Google. However, there are things you can do now
to be prepared and have the best chance of participating:
- have you met any other Debian members or free software developers
personally? I had a look at the local groups page and the closest I
could find are in HK, Indonesia and Australia:
http://wiki.debian.org/LocalGroups#Asia
but if you send an email to the debian-devel mailing list, you may find
people in Singapore as well. I have been there myself many times, but
I'm usually in Europe.
- do you already contribute to any other open source projects?
- have you tried using any of our security packages in Debian? Please
feel free to share any feedback you have about them.
Regards,
Daniel
