Sure.
I've thought a bit more about the /etc/defaults/-defaults under
/usr/share/... and am wondering how the users would notice that they
need to update their local copy in /etc/defaults/ when the default in
/usr/share/... changes. I'm sure I've seen a discussion about something
like this before ...
IIRC OpenBSD warns in this case, but I don't think I've seen a mechanism
for that in Debian. Where did you see this in Debian? My attempts on
codesearch.debian.net didn't find an example.
