It may be that the branch is not corrupted, but instead is simply no
longer useable.

An *existing* loom branch, that had been working fine until the same
upgrade, is now unreadable with exactly the same crash.

Perhaps ‘bzr-loom’ and ‘bzr’ should be declaring a versioned
dependency that would prevent them being incompatible like this?
