[Pkg-bazaar-maint] Bug#693832: python-bzrlib: Nags about registering on Launchpad when using lp: URLs

Package: python-bzrlib
Version: 2.6.0~bzr6526-1
Severity: wishlist

Hi!

When using bzr (currently through git-bzr-ng), every time I clone
a repository using “lp:”-syle URLs, or «git bzr fetch» from it, bzr
nags me about needing to register an ID with Launchpad (something
I'm not planning on doing). It can continue just fine, because it
maps the URL to an “http:” one.

Checking the code on [0], it would appear this happens when the URL
can be pushed to, something which makes perfect sense with “bzr+ssh:”
URLs, for example.

  [0] /usr/share/pyshared/bzrlib/plugins/launchpad/lp_directory.py

I'd be really grateful if the nagging would be quiesced, whenever the
URL is (usually) RO, or if it can get mapped to an RO one (like “lp:”
ones). Or at least if I could tell bzr somehow (suppress_warnings?),
I'm not intersted in registering on Launchpad.

Having to switch to the redirected URL behind the “lp:” one would be
also annoying as that might change from time to time (?), at least I
seem to remember this happening with upstart.

Thanks,
Guillem
