First, edit the file /etc/boinc-client/remot_hosts.cfg and add the hostnames 
of the computer which will be used to monitor the cleint (your desktop pc).

On your desktop pc use the BOINC Manager: go to the menu entry "Advanced", 
select there "Select computer...", type in the hostname of the computer where 
the BOINC client is running and press Ok. That's it.
