The best advise I can give you is to get in contact with those administrators 
and try to convince them that the x86_64 base is not small. Since they are 
interested in the computing power of their users' machines they should care.

Maintaining this patch wasn't easy at all and since upstream came up with the 
new mechnism I decided to drop this patch so that I can concentrate on other 
things.
