Yes, there's not much we can do about this, except finding the cause of those crashes (as it appears to have worked with Gutsy).
Are there any indications in /var/lib/boinc-client/std{out,err}dae.txt (you need to open these files as root/boinc)?

I'm running Einstein at Home myself, on a AMD64 (32bit), without any
crashes.
