Try again to build from source with a newer version:

dget -x http://ftp.debian.org/debian/pool/main/b/boinc/boinc_5.10.30-5.dsc
cd boinc-5.10.30/
dpkg-buildpackage -rfakeroot -us -uc

This should build a boinc-client package with the ppc64-linux-gnu BOINC
platform without manual intervention if dpkg-architecture reports
powerpc64-linux-gnu for the DEB_HOST_GNU_TYPE on your build machine.

If it does not work, please send us the output of dpkg-architecture and
the log of the dpkg-buildpackage run.

Cheers,
