Bug#540461: boinc-client is making machine to freeze on amd64

I run CPDN and WCG on multiple machines under Ubuntu x64 and Xubuntu x64, currently using the boinc-client from the PPA (v6.10.58) but had been running on downloaded x64 version from Berkeley.

Most of these machines are Intel CPU'd.  Do you mean you are running them on AMD CPUs or that you're using the AMDx64 version of Debian/Ubuntu? 
How much RAM is installed on the machine and what projects are attached?
