LANG=C doesn't change situation

boincmgr --verbose shows:
06:39:00 PM: catalog file for domain 'wxstd' not found.
06:39:00 PM: catalog file for domain 'wxgtk' not found.
06:39:00 PM: catalog file for domain 'BOINC-Manager' not found.
06:39:01 PM: Error: Memory VFS already contains file 'webexternallink.xpm'!
06:39:01 PM: Error: Memory VFS already contains file 'nvidiaicon.xpm'!
06:39:01 PM: Error: Memory VFS already contains file 'atiicon.xpm'!
06:39:01 PM: Error: Memory VFS already contains file 'multicore.xpm'!

accessing menu with shortcuts work
