IMnsHO, Why do we care?
You can now set a preference to have boinc suspend whenever the
non-boinc CPU activity exceeds xx%. Since the whole purpose of this (and
'mouse movement') is to not degrade the desktop performance while using
the machine this newer option is a much better solution.
Setting this to around 20% (very machine dependent, set very low on your
8 core hyper-theaded monster, much higher on your PIII-660) will
functionally accomplish the purpose better than 'mouse movement' ever did.
The machine I experimented with was a 2.8GHz P4 w/ HT w/ 1.5GB of RAM.
25% seemed to be about the right number for it.
So my suggestion, close as 'no longer needed, use CPU load control option'.
