SETI graphics - same source tree, two binaries?

Dear Yixuan, dear Gianfranco,

I had a look at the boinc-app-seti's graphics branch and liked it. I am looking forward to use is it to investigate the I/O issue further. For that, I need the seti client twice, once with graphics enabled, and the other time without graphics enabled. From what I grasp, this would mean to configure, build, rename, configure, build again, install and proceed. I do not see anything like that in the current debian/rules file of the graphics branch. Should I address that?
