No patch, sorry. I don't really use the package myself. There was a report
in BOINC forums that the latest package doesn't start and after
investigating the problem I thought I'd report it myself to the bug tracker.

It's not that upstream moved to this or that. It's more about more or less
everyone else uses /var/lib/boinc and Debian/Ubuntu/etc are the only ones
using something else. Upstream doesn't really have a firm policy on data
directory location. Just notes that Fedora and Debian disagree.

I wouldn't mind if Debian moved to /var/lib/boinc to match everyone else if
it's possible to make that change. Makes things more simple in the long
run. For some reason I have always imagined that Debian uses different
directory name to match the package name. Does Debian have some policies
about directory names?
