[Pkg-clamav-devel] Should we try to get 0.94.dfsg.2-1 into lenny?

Hi all,

As the version currently sitting in lenny has a security flaw and some other
minor fixes it might be nice to get it unblocked for lenny. Even if nobody
objects, still the discussion about making volatile-only packages remains vivid.

This would avoid the false impression that stable's packages are really useful,
but makes all depending packages also volatile-only, which in many cases is
undesirable. Furthermore, there is no default pinning like it exists for
backports where users may choose to only upgrade a single package. Instead, you
get all your packages upgraded to volatile's version.

We could bring this up with the release-team and/or ftp-masters, but personally
I don't see the volatile-only approach as a really doable approach.

Best,
Michael
