Yup. In fact I think i got banned on 0.95.3 as well. :)
I thought someone spammed the list using my address and forgot about it.
 
About which way to go, I'm good with squashing upstream commits. The
only thing to note is that, this way, upstream commits (e.g. security
patches) cannot be cherry picked from debian/unstable. They'll need to
be picked straight from the upstream remote instead.
Just for completeness, cherry picking more than 10 upstream commits
reopens the ML spam issue :P
