Package: clamav-unofficial-sigs
Severity: wishlist
Hi,
I have a system which gets its clamav signatures from clamav-data.
Therefore, the permissions of /var/lib/clamav are like this:
drwxrwxr-t 2 clamav clamav 4,0K 24. Jan 16:48 ./
drwxr-xr-x 29 root root 4,0K 24. Jan 08:54 ../
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 4,0M 22. Jan 23:16 daily.cvd
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 21M 22. Jan 23:16 main.cvd
/usr/sbin/clamav-unofficial-sigs obviously tries to unconditionally
chmod all files in/var/lib/clamav, which causes mails like this:
From: Cron Daemon <root at example.com>
Subject: Cron <clamav-unofficial-sigs at torres> [ -x
/usr/sbin/clamav-unofficial-sigs ] && /usr/sbin/clamav-unofficial-sigs
To: clamav-unofficial-sigs at example.com
Date: Sun, 24 Jan 2010 16:48:24 +0100
chmod: changing permissions of `/var/lib/clamav/daily.cvd': Operation not permitted
chmod: changing permissions of `/var/lib/clamav/main.cvd': Operation not permitted
on every cron invocation.
As the maintainer of clamav-getfiles, which creates clamav-data, I'd
like to know whether I need to fix my package or whether you need to
fix yours. My first thoughts are, these are my files, don't tamper
with them in your cron job. But I may be wrong.
Greetings
Marc
