In the postinstall-script, clamav-unofficial-sigs relies on information from file '/etc/cron.d/clamav-unofficial-sigs'.
If one edited the file and commented out the line with instructions, but left the file on the device, the update fails with error-message:
id: : No such user
and dpkg returns 1.
